Dots and dogs

I wanted dotty fabric but also need to use up what''s here.

So I hunted down my permanent markers and now have lots of dotty fabric.

I wish I spoke 'Dog'.  Lots of singing going on around here.

  1. you brought back a memory ... of my brother's little Stieff dachshund ... the nose and mouth a perfect replica of your tiny singer's smile

and YES!!!! how great to read that you MADE dots. I was
thinking this morning that i "need" more black and white
prints, of a certain specific kind, and i thought of
reading this yesterday....Yes! I can MAKE them.
    Thanks for this thought!!!!!

    1. You can use a resist on cotton (blue Elmer's
washable school glue works well and is cheap) to make
designs then dye black. I use Dylon (easy) and add
fabric at intervals within the hour it takes to sit in
dye. I get different shades of grey and black (and colors). I feel like a mad scientist mixing colors!
Eyeing some linen clothes I never wear...

    1. I think of you looking for your home. Hope she's
still singing her new people song so you can find her.
      Sending hope!

  4. I would think putting together squares of fabric is as satifying as choosing colors and designs to paint.

Fabrics and singing dogs...what a great life!!

    1. It really is. Two of my favorite teacher's paintings
remind me of quilt squares. Maybe this is why they feel
      right.
