Benten on her Dragon

Benten is a Japanese Kami/Deity who personifies wisdom, rivers and

everything that flows (wiki). Benten was inspired by Saraswati (a Hindu deity). Saraswati

waits on another cloth to be sewn. Sewing, sowing wisdom would is a good thought for me.

(sorry about the bad photo, a better camera is in my future)

  1. I like the fluidity of your images rendered in warm, fire tones. I didn't know that "wiki" meant flow.

    1. Sorry, I wasn't clear...Wiki was the source of the
information. I love that wisdom and rivers are under
Benten's influence. When I think of it more deeply I see that wisdom does flow. Most often when I'm not talking but listening. Thank you for your kind words.

  2. I love the symmetry of your cloths ... the sacred spaces you create within

  3. Thank you so much, Liz. Some days stitching helps me deal
with the stupidity, greed, waste, lies, cruelty, hate and suffering in our world these days.

Sacred spaces...I really like that you see them.

  4. Maybe blame it on camera quality, but I really like the softness and almost worn look to these bits of cloth and the ancient stories they, you tell.
    Be well

    1. I love those ancient stories. It seems like that's as far as I can get these days w/o leaving home.
      Thank you, Nancy
