A great find and well worth restoring

I noticed this beautiful cloth bag at my local thrift store.

Then I turned it over...

and fell in love. I'll be restoring some of the broken threads.

Every once in a while something as beautiful as this finds me.

Cool and dry now after big rain last night.

    1. It is embroidered. Last night I began to restore some of
the missing original threads. I believe it is an east Indian embroidery.

    1. The satin stitch is so tiny...one or two threads. It's
humbling to restore this beautiful thing.

  4. I'm thinking it may deserve a place on the wall. This would keep
    it from coming apart.

    1. Decided I'll finish the most threadbare part and hang it
where we can enjoy it. I feel like it may be a piece of clothing which was made into a bag. It's beautiful.

  7. It is! Looked through my World Textiles book last night. it could
be from India or China. The satin stitched items from both places
    are as fine as this.
