Parkinson's and Yoga

In early Feb I began Yoga classes as therapy for my  Parkinson's. I take meds which
help but I wasn't happy with limited movement and not ready to give in to this
condition. My Doctors, family and I are amazed at the results! Many of the side
effects are resolved. I'm able to go shopping  and eat out again.
I use a cane but haven't needed my walker lately. And the fatigue is no where
near what it was before yoga. I sleep well again...so many good changes!

If you know of anyone with this condition please tell them about this Kindle book,
Yoga, Ayurveda Therapy Program - for Parkinson's Condition by Zoe Campbell
It's available on Amazon. My Yoga teacher looked at it today and said
it was similar to what she's teaching me. This school of Yoga is life changing for me.

Turning

Waking up and shaking off cold, wet days.
Opening the windows after too much time inside.

Out from under heavy clothes and quilts.
Remembering life renews with no effort on my part..

Sorting through cloth and stories.
Turning to beginning again with old and new friends.

More light

The cold months and dark days have their place and purpose.
Reading, clearing, cleaning, studying and good sleep.
Now you can read a newspaper outside at 6 pm.
More light. And here is Miss Pup who will join
our home on April 13.
We're preparing.

We are Family

Today we drove to Walmart with the grandboy to find a Christmas
present for him. Everyone else was last minute shopping too.
I used my walker as this is Walmart, one of the bigger stores.

I had to sit for awhile in an out of the way place and watched each
person or family pass. A thought floated thru my mind,

"This is my Family".

I couldn't stop smiling at folks and saying hi, making eye contact and
appreciating aunts, uncles, mothers, brothers. Every one of them looked
back and most spoke. We're all made of the same stardust. We have
each other to appreciate. We should be the last person to hate another in this big family.

The photo is from a bird funeral my friends and I celebrated when I was five.
I want to remember and live with this experience today. Kind of a spontaneous
life lesson. We are all family.

Under the Petting Trees

A friend reminded me that llamas and sheep like to get
'petted' by trees and fences by rubbing against them.

I love seeing our sheep walk up to the fence
and do the bear thing to get to those hard to
reach places.
